About
Lasik

AM I A CANDIDATE FOR LASIK?

To be a candidate, you must have healthy eyes and a stable vision (no large changes in your glasses prescription for at least one year). You must be 18 years old. There is no upper age limit.

ARE THE EFFECTS OF LASIK PERMANENT?
Yes. Following an initial healing period of two to three months, the effects of surgery are lifelong.

HOW LONG DOES LASIK TAKE?
The entire procedure takes about 20 minutes for both eyes.

WHAT KIND OF ANESTHESIA IS USED DURING THE SURGERY?
Anesthetic drops will be used during surgery. No shots or IV's are used.

WILL BOTH EYES BE OPERATED ON AT THE SAME TIME?
We do operate on both eyes at the same time to decrease the troublesome effect of having only one eye corrected between two procedures.

HOW MUCH WILL IT COST ME?
We are currently offering a special price of $1499.00 per eye. 100% financing is available with approved credit. Call or e-mail us for details.

WILL I EXPERIENCE PAIN DURING SURGERY?
You may feel pressure around the eye.

WHAT WILL I SEE DURING THE PROCEDURE?
You will be asked to look at a blinking red light.

WILL I EXPERIENCE PAIN FOLLOWING THE SURGERY?
You may experience a feeling of mild scratchiness or burning. This discomfort generally lasts from 1 to 4 hours.

HOW SOON AFTER THE SURGERY CAN I EXPECT TO SEE BETTER?
Most patients notice dramatic improvement almost immediately. The eye drops you will be given may cause some blurriness.

HOW SOON AFTER SURGERY CAN I BATHE OR SHOWER?
You can bathe or shower the same day as the surgery. Avoid getting soap and water into your eyes.

HOW SOON CAN I USE MAKEUP?
You may wear makeup starting 2-3 days after surgery. We recommend you purchase new makeup (specifically mascara) to avoid possible infection.

HOW SOON CAN I DRIVE AFTER SURGERY?
You should be able to drive the following day. You will need someone to drive you home the day of surgery due to the sedative you will be given.

HOW SOON CAN I EXERCISE?
Avoid heavy lifting for one week. Non-contact sports can be resumed as soon as you wish. Always wear eye protection for racquet sports and sports where there is a risk of being hit in the eye.

HOW MANY TIMES WILL THE DOCTOR SEE ME AFTER SURGERY?
As many times as needed by the surgeon. However, scheduled visits will be the following day, 1 month, 3 months, and 6 months. These visits are free of charge.
